If the perfume world has a guru, then it’s almost certainly Michael Edwards, the Australia-based expert whose Fragrances Of The World database has slavishly tracked and chronicled the rising volume of scent releases for decades. So the arrival of any new book from him would be cause for excitement. But when the book in question is a companion piece to his revered Perfume Legends (1996), the excitement is coupled with an immediate move to make space on one’s shelves for what is bound to become an indispensable tome.
